Settling In, Retreat Magic, and Finding My Rhythm Again

Hi Friends!

It’s been a season of movement, growth, and grounding, and I’ve got some exciting updates to share with you.

First off, a big heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined me for the May 10th Virtual Writing & Wellness Retreat. You showed up with your stories, your hearts, and your courage, and together, we created something beautiful. The energy, the connection, the deep conversations, and joyful writing sprints reminded me exactly why I host these retreats in the first place.

If you missed this one, don’t worry. I’ve added a new retreat to the calendar:
👉 Late Summer Spark – August 10, 2025

This will be a one-day virtual retreat focused solely on writing sprints and community connection. No panels, no presentations—just time to write, breathe, and share space with other creatives who get it. Think of it as your own cozy writer’s room, with a bunch of fellow queer creatives cheering you on.

And for those of you ready to take things deeper…

🪵 The April 6–12, 2026 Writing & Wellness Retreat at Raven’s Retreat in Hocking Hills, Ohio, still has a few spots open!

This is your chance to fully immerse yourself in your writing while surrounded by nature, creative support, and a safe, affirming community. We’ll have daily yoga, nourishing meals, creative coaching, free time to explore the woods or just sit on the porch with a journal, and plenty of writing sessions designed to help you get out of your head and into your story.

Whether you’re craving space to begin a new project or determined to finally finish your novel, this retreat offers the container and care to help you do just that.

🌾 On a personal note:

I recently moved back to Nebraska, and while I’m happy to be home, the transition has been… a bit weird. I’m finding my footing again after a big shift in pace and place. My writing rhythm’s been off, but I’m leaning into slowness, trusting that the words will return as I settle in.

Moving reminds you what you’re carrying—literally and emotionally. And as I rebuild routines and reflect on what matters, I know that holding space for queer creatives and building a life around storytelling is still the core of what I love.

So if you’re in a season of transition too—creative, emotional, or otherwise—you’re not alone. I see you. We’re figuring it out together.

Thanks for being part of this wandering, wonderful creative life with me.

With gratitude and gentle creativity,
Arden Coutts (they/them)
